Very practical and methodical.
(This book) is surprisingly comprehensive – and not an easy read. But the first three chapters give an effective overview of the subject requiring little or no background. The writing is excellent, serious without being stuffy, but free of the sometimes excessive cornball humor other Dummies books have. The “part of tens” – often throwaway – is full of genuinely useful links to a variety of data visualization tools and resources. I learned a tremendous amount from this book and plan to keep it close at hand as my own job increasingly takes on (relevant) aspects and projects.

(This book) is for those who need high quality information in a condensed but easy to digest approach. I’ve found this text to be the most widely approachable book and collection of content for those interested in getting started in the field and reviewing its most important tenets and ideas. While you won’t use this book to become a world expert, it will get you on the right track for your journey.
I highly recommend this video. I particularly liked how the instructor went to the trouble to add an explanation for why a particular answer was incorrect when chosen during the quiz. That must have been tedious and I haven’t seen it in other videos.

As a newcomer, I found this course to be very helpful. The materials are not too difficult to understand because the instructor explains about it in a simple way and provides relevant examples to make the lessons even easier to follow.
This is a fairly high level introduction, which should be perfect for someone who is just starting out and wants to know the “what is what”. It unpacks the tidy presentation that you will find in this book.
