(This book) is surprisingly comprehensive – and not an easy read. But the first three chapters give an effective overview of the subject requiring little or no background. The writing is excellent, serious without being stuffy, but free of the sometimes excessive cornball humor other Dummies books have. The “part of tens” – often throwaway – is full of genuinely useful links to a variety of data visualization tools and resources. I learned a tremendous amount from this book and plan to keep it close at hand as my own job increasingly takes on (relevant) aspects and projects.
