You could think of it as <\/span><b>helping to keep your company\u2019s data eyes on the prize &#8211; the prize being the new and improved business profits.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>Why you need it<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An analytics framework is super important in protecting the<\/span><b> business&#8217;s ROI into data projects. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It does the following:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Prevent spinning wheels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; it happens when data implementation people get so focused on the details of the implementation and configuring the solution, that they forget to keep their eyes on the core business objective that the work is satisfying. So, it\u2019s kind of like <strong>&#8220;putting the cart before the horse.&#8221;<\/strong> If you can manage to keep your eyes in focus directly centered on how your work actually increases business profits for your company, that is going to help you find the clearest and most direct path to reaching that goal.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Reduce waste<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; it helps to break down silos between data workers and data resources. It\u2019s the situation where you have multiple people working to solve the same problem in different ways. Well, you only need one person to find the solution to the problem and share it with the team, right? What steps could you take to make sure that the work you\u2019re doing on a daily basis is actually improving the bottom line for your company?<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With this, I would start with brainstorming and then trying to develop a process. Within the process, you would detail each step that\u2019s required to make sure that your plan is <strong>fail-proof<\/strong>. That\u2019s how you go about creating an evergreen analytics strategy framework.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, of course there\u2019s a good degree of iteration as you\u2019re working through this process and as you work over the years, you will refine your process, make it better, more repeatable and also more fail-proof.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In all honesty, a good framework comes from years of experience. S &#8211; Survey the industry<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is where you go around and do extensive research looking at all the different use cases and case studies, getting yourself up to speed with all of the various use cases across the industry and which ones might be most effective in getting your company results considering its current set-up. When I say current set- up, I mean, in terms of the people it has in place to implement as well as the data resources it has and the technologies. Since you\u2019re a data worker, you\u2019re intimately aware of these aspects, so there\u2019s really no one better than you to be out there surveying the industry and trying to identify optimal use cases for implementation at your company.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>2. T &#8211; Take stock &amp; inventory of your organization<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Collect or generate all sorts of documentation that describes all of the various aspects of operations inside your business. You definitely don\u2019t want to limit yourself to only data operations, because they aren\u2019t really the core business operations that need to be optimized. You\u2019ll need to take a more holistic view of your company and its most urgent needs. The tools you can use in order to take stock and inventory in your company include things like:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Surveys<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Interviews\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Requests for information<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>3. A &#8211; Assess your organization\u2019s current state conditions<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is essentially where you take all of the documentations that you have collected in the previous phase, and start evaluating and identifying gaps or areas of opportunity. You also need to consider imminent risks that could be mitigated through implementing the right data use case. After doing a super thorough evaluation of your business and its operations, you would go ahead and hone in on that ideal optimal use case that\u2019s gonna give the biggest bank for your company\u2019s buck. Now, this use case needs to be based on your company\u2019s existing resources. You need to make sure that you\u2019re creating as much value as possible from it\u2019s existing technologies, skill sets and data resources.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>4.
